Surf Lodge Nursing Home is a long-term care
facility licensed by the Department of Health to
provide nursing and personal care services to
eligible individuals.
This new continuing care center, located in
the Town of Lockeport, was built in 1997 and
offers a wonderful view of the scenic Back
Harbour. Surf Lodge is owned by MacLeod Group
Inc., a Nova Scotia based company, with
headquarters in Antigonish, which operates five
nursing homes in the province.
Surf Lodge offers resident-focused nursing
care to 34 regular and 2 respite residents, in
spacious, comfortable private or semi-private
rooms, each with a washroom.
The large lounge where residents dine, enjoy
activities, and relax overlooks the Back Harbour.
Comfortable chairs, TV, VCR, DVD Player and fireplace
contribute to the comfort and convenience of the
lounge. The open foyer is a gathering place for
those residents who enjoy sitting and greeting
visitors to the home. The spacious yard and
inviting verandah offer pleasant areas where
residents can enjoy the outdoors. Whirlpool
baths are available for therapeutic use.
A modern kitchen is centrally located to
ensure efficient access to the dining area. The
nursing station is conveniently located in the
main foyer. In-house barbering and hairdressing
services are available to residents at the
hairstyling salon in the South wing. Laundry
facilities are equipped to provide the level of
service required by a Home of this size.
Each resident room is equipped with ample
closet space, dresser, bedside table, and
comfortable bed. The windows are large, offering
a view of the pleasant surroundings. Wide doors
and hallways provide for ease of movement within
the Home.
